Nike's Hyper Innovative Running Shoe Gets a Darkly Dazzling Makeover
The Pegasus Premium, a rich new aesthetic take on the classic running shoe, is designed to celebrate global running culture. This innovative release is a darkly dazzling makeover that goes beyond the standard black, offering a smoky new colorway that will appeal to those who gravitate toward darker hues.
The Pegasus Premium has previously appeared in a mostly black option with metallic accents, but the new "Off Noir/Dark Hazel/Ironstone/Black" variant is a rich, deep makeover that stands out from typical blacked-out sneakers. The "Our Pace, Our Vib(e)ration" edition is part of a seasonal collection centered on shared movement and a community-oriented, global approach to running, complete with motivational messaging and an updated aesthetic.
The shoe features a slate gray knit mesh upper with contrasting lighter gray lace panels and hazelnut overlays, paired with a durability-enhancing black ripstop wrap that shields the lower half of the shoe. The equally dark outsole includes a contrasting blue accent that adds to the dimension of the shoe, and the visible heel Air unit adds a minimal dash of color, this time yellow.
Along with the smoky, dynamic new color palette, there are nods to the brand's global approach to running across the shoe, from the "Our Pace Our Vib(e)ration" ethos included on the outer forefoot to the abstract running figure graphics on the insoles and inner sidewall. The insole artwork is dedicated to the Nike International Running Team, with the collage-style graphics meant to represent unity, connection, and shared experience.
The Pegasus Premium will be available this Spring, retailing for $230. Although a specific release date has yet to be announced, this makeover is sure to be a hit with runners who appreciate a darkly dazzling aesthetic.
