CAA Baseball Strengthens Its Lineup with Two New Agents
March 3, 2026
Former WME MLBPA-certified agents Braden Looper and Matt Nimer are joining CAA's baseball division, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the team. Both will report to CAA's co-heads of baseball, Andrew Nacario, Matt Ricatto, and Ryan Hamill. Nimer will be based in New York, while Looper will be based in Chicago.
Looper's baseball career is a testament to his dedication and skill. He was a prominent MLB pitcher from 1998 to 2009, pitching for the Cardinals, Marlins, Mets, and Brewers. Looper's impact was significant, especially during the Marlins' 2003 World Series victory, where he was a key reliever. He later joined the Cardinals' 2006 World Series triumph, showcasing his versatility and leadership. After his retirement, Looper seamlessly transitioned into a new role, becoming an MLBPA-certified agent, working with firms like Hendricks Sports Management and WME Sports, which previously represented him during his playing days.
Nimer's journey is equally impressive. With nearly two decades of experience in the Yankees clubhouse, he moved to WME Sports in 2021, where he became an MLBPA-certified agent. His deep understanding of the baseball industry and player representation makes him a valuable asset to CAA.
The addition of Looper and Nimer to CAA Baseball further solidifies the division's position as a powerhouse in MLB representation. CAA already represents some of the biggest names in baseball, including Dodgers P/DH Shohei Ohtani, Red Sox P Garrett Crochet, and Phillies SS Trea Turner. With their combined expertise and CAA's existing strength, the division is poised to continue its success and provide exceptional representation for its clients.
